Description
The California Highway Patrol is seeking a vendor to install, operate, and staff healthy‑meal vending machines at three CHP employee wellness locations. The contractor will supply fresh, heart‑healthy meals, handle all installation, routine maintenance, and monthly restocking at no cost to the State for a six‑month pilot, after which the agreement may be extended. The vendor must meet nutritional criteria, provide ADA‑accessible payment terminals, and ensure all personnel pass background checks and adhere to CHP security rules.
• Install and operate vending machines at Modesto, Oceanside, and East Los Angeles CHP offices.
• Provide fresh, ready‑to‑eat meals that meet specific protein, calorie, sodium, fiber, and saturated‑fat thresholds, accommodating common allergens, vegetarian, and dairy‑free diets.
• Perform monthly restocking and weekly checks, with all labor, installation, and maintenance offered free of charge during the evaluation period.
• Ensure machines have ADA‑compliant POS devices and meet space/power specifications; staff must wear company shirts, be drug‑free, and pass driver‑license/fingerprint screenings.
• Maintain required insurance (CGL, automobile, workers’ comp) naming the State as additional insured.
