The Risk Management Division of the General Services Department is seeking proposals from attorneys to provide professional legal services to facilitate the division's statutory duties to defend the State of New Mexico in matters that fall under its purview. The selected contractor will work closely with the division's staff to develop legal strategies and provide legal representation for legal matters related to the division's mission. • The proposal should include information about the attorney's experience in general tort liability, medical malpractice, law enforcement and corrections liability, employment law, civil rights, insurance, subrogation, and contractual indemnity. • The contractor will be required to keep the division's claims administrators and supervising attorneys informed about dates of settlement conferences, mediations, and arbitrations, as well as hearing dates on all dispositive motions. • The division will review all legal services invoices and expense submissions to confirm compliance with contractual billing guidelines and other governmental finance requirements. • The contract will be awarded to the most advantageous responsible offeror, taking into consideration the evaluation factors set forth in the RFP. • The contractor will be required to maintain confidentiality of all confidential information and not publish or disclose such information to any third party without the prior written approval of the division.
