Description
Longwood University is seeking a qualified vendor to assume full management‑service responsibility for its campus bookstore and attached coffee‑shop/café for an initial five‑year term (with one optional five‑year renewal). The contractor must handle all aspects of operations—including staffing, inventory control, sales, marketing, financial administration, facility upkeep, utilities, licensing, and compliance—while meeting specific pricing, inventory, and customer‑service standards. The incumbent will receive a guaranteed minimum commission of $250,000 annually, plus a tiered percentage of gross sales, and must also pay an annual lease for the 3,030 sq ft. space.
• Operate a 3,030 sq ft. bookstore/café, providing new/used textbooks, trade books, university‑branded merchandise, and café items.
• Maintain inventory levels, a buy‑back program, and pricing caps (e.g., new textbooks ≤ net price + 30%).
• Assume all utility costs, staffing, insurance, and a one‑time unamortized cost of $457,938 if not the incumbent.
• Deliver quarterly customer‑satisfaction reports, participate in advisory committees, and comply with ADA and university policies.
