Build and Deliver Battery-Electric Top Handlers for the Port of Los Angeles

The Port of Los Angeles has received EPA funding for the Clean Ports Program, a project that aims to deploy zero-emission port equipment. Yusen Terminals, LLC (YTI) is seeking proposals from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) or authorized dealerships to build and deliver 12 battery-electric top handlers and provide warranty and maintenance services. The selected contractor will be required to provide training and tools for maintenance, as well as telematics and data collection services. The contract term will conclude on December 31, 2028. • The project requires the deployment of 12 zero-emission, battery-electric top handlers • The equipment must meet specific performance requirements, including a minimum rated capacity of 80,000 lbs and a run time of at least 16 hours on a full charge • The selected contractor will be required to provide warranty services for a minimum of three years or 7,500 hours • The contractor will also be required to provide maintenance training and tools to YTI • The project includes a virtual Q&A session on December 1, 2025, and proposals are due by December 22, 2025.
