Professional Auction Services

The Steuben County Purchasing Department is seeking proposals from qualified auction firms for professional auction services. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting the annual sale of the County's surplus and obsolete equipment, including office furniture, computers, cars, pickup trucks, and heavy equipment. The firm must have expertise in organizing, marketing, and conducting the sale to optimize return. The contract term will be one year with an option to extend up to four one-year renewal options. • The auctioneering firm shall demonstrate knowledge and ability to sell a wide variety of merchandise. • The firm must have adequate and knowledgeable staff to prepare the surplus for sale. • The firm must have the necessary equipment to conduct a successful sale, and the County desires to conduct the auction online. • A complete and accurate accounting of the sale is required, including clerk's sheets, an auction settlement, and a breakdown of sales by other municipalities. • Settlement checks must be issued to specified County departments and participating municipalities.
