Special Events Equipment & Temporary Structures

Virginia Tech is seeking a contractor to provide special events equipment and temporary structures for various events on campus. The contractor will be responsible for providing turnkey temporary event infrastructure and support services, including installation and removal. The scope of work includes temporary seating, bleachers, and audience risers; temporary scaffold structures, platforms, event decks, stages, and flooring; temporary tents and structures; temporary audio/visual equipment rentals; temporary HVAC equipment rentals; temporary stage and event lighting systems; temporary crowd control and crash barricades; and temporary custom-built event structures. The contractor must provide a detailed equipment inventory, information about personnel capabilities, examples of similar work, safety certifications, and pricing. The contract will be for a period of one year, with the option for five one-year renewals. Some key points to consider are: • The contractor must be able to provide a wide range of equipment and services to support various events on campus. • The contractor must have experience working with similar clients and be able to provide examples of similar work. • The contractor must have the necessary safety certifications and licenses to perform the work. • The contractor must be able to provide a detailed pricing structure and be willing to negotiate prices. • The contractor must be able to provide a plan for utilizing SWaM subcontractors if awarded a contract.
