Theater Sound System Replacement

The City of Aspen is seeking proposals for the total replacement and update of the Wheeler Opera House's Main PA (Sound Reinforcement System). The project includes consultation, design, installation, calibration, training, tech support, warranty coverages, and any/all software & licensing associated with said systems. The selected vendor must provide a turnkey ready, state of the art speaker system capable of maximum and even coverage within the theater space at both low and high decibel levels. The system should be of professional quality, high fidelity, and industry leading technologies, meeting the most rigorous touring act's technical specifications. Some key features of the required system include: * Limited sight line impacts * Color matched cabinets to maintain the esthetic of the historic 136-year-old Classic Victorian Opera house * Fully capable of reproducing a world class listening experience for patrons and community members * Produced in a facility that is carbon neutral, environmentally conscious, and energy efficient The Wheeler Opera House has a variety of events and performances, including concerts, movies, festivals, lectures, community events, opera, and more. The venue has a seating capacity of up to 499 seats, with 362 in the orchestra and 137 in the balcony. The stage dimensions are 27'11" (proscenium width), 16'11" (proscenium height), and 24'6" (depth from grand curtain to rear wall). The venue has a freight elevator, passenger elevator, and various loading areas, including a garage door and staff entrance. The Wheeler Opera House also has a green room, dressing rooms, and a workshop that can be made available for use.
