Budget estimate

$2,500,000 – $10,000,000

Based on the RFP, it appears that the City of Danville is seeking a comprehensive solution for inmate telephone and tablet services. The contractor will be responsible for installing, operating, maintaining, and servicing the system, which will require significant upfront investment. However, the contract term is for 5 years, with options to renew for an additional 4 years, which provides a long-term revenue stream for the contractor. The RFP also mentions that the contractor will be paid based on a commission structure, which will be a percentage of the gross revenue generated by the system. Given these factors, a reasonable estimate for the budget would be in the range of $500,000 to $2,000,000 per year, depending on the number of inmates, the usage of the system, and the commission rate. Over the 5-year contract term, this would translate to a total budget of $2,500,000 to $10,000,000. The low end of the estimate is based on a conservative assumption of low usage and a low commission rate, while the high end is based on a more optimistic assumption of high usage and a higher commission rate.
