Description

The U.S. Army is seeking a supplier to provide electronic identification tags (E‑Tags) and compatible barcode scanners for reception‑processing operations. The tags must work with the existing Zebra DS9308 1D/2D scanners, and the contract will also cover the provision of either the Zebra DS9308 scanner or an equivalent model that supports hands‑free and handheld scanning of 1D, 2D, and QR codes, with USB connectivity to government‑furnished computers. Specifics such as final tag size, material, barcode format, numbering sequence, and printing requirements will be supplied by the requesting activity. This is a hardware procurement focused on improving personnel tracking during reception. • Provide E‑Tags that meet Army‑specified dimensions, materials, and barcode standards. • Supply Zebra DS9308‑type scanners (or equal) with USB interface and required cables. • Ensure compatibility with existing reception scanning infrastructure. • Deliver according to the Army’s schedule and government‑furnished equipment integration requirements. • Support both hands‑free and handheld scanning modes for 1D/2D barcodes and QR codes.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $250,000

The solicitation is for a fleet of electronic identification tags and a set of barcode scanners for a government reception operation. Similar Army hardware procurements typically range from a few dozen thousand dollars for modest quantities up to several hundred thousand dollars for larger deployments that include custom‑printed tags and multiple scanner units. Assuming a modest initial purchase (e.g., 5,000 tags and 20 scanners) the contract value could be roughly $50,000–$250,000, depending on tag material, printing complexity, and whether the scanners are purchased new or as refurbished equivalents.
