Description
The Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a vendor to provide medical laboratory services for the Robert E. Spiller Veterans Center, a 60-bed long-term care skilled nursing facility. The selected vendor will be responsible for providing laboratory services, including collection of samples, pickup of specimens, test results submission, and other related services. The vendor must comply with all federal and state laws and regulations governing laboratory services and maintain all required insurances for vendor employees and facility. The contract term is anticipated to be from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028, with the option to renew for up to two additional two-year periods.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Providing laboratory services as ordered by the attending physician/nurse practitioner
• Notifying the facility of test results and providing cumulative laboratory reports
• Complying with all federal and state laws and regulations governing laboratory services
• Maintaining all required insurances for vendor employees and facility
• Providing orientation in-services to the facility on the use of laboratory services
• Ensuring that all representatives have mandatory backgrounds checks and are not suspended, debarred, excluded, or ineligible to participate in federal health care programs
