Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) seeks a qualified contractor to provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for its Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) translation system, a custom utility‑payment software component, and associated Value‑Added Network (VAN) services. The work includes software bug fixes, map updates, code modifications, testing, and data‑transfer services, primarily performed remotely with occasional onsite support as required. The contract is a two‑year fixed‑price award with a ceiling of $106,429 and an optional one‑year amendment up to $50,000.
• Maintain and modify the EDI translation software (ANSI X12 ↔ ASCII conversion).
• Support the custom utility‑payment application that reformats translated files for Caltrans’ Utility Payment Section.
• Deliver VAN connectivity and charge per‑kilobyte usage for EDI 810/820 file exchange.
• Provide 8 a.m.–5 p.m. M‑F support, comply with stringent California data‑security, privacy, and sanction regulations, and perform all work with in‑house staff (no subcontracting).
