Rocky Mountain Youth Corps crew working directly with the Fuels

The National Park Service intends to award a single source justified cooperative agreement to the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps for a project that aims to reduce hazardous fuel loads along park roadways and near park infrastructure. The project will also provide educational and work opportunities for young people, training them in conservation activities and preparing them for future careers in natural resources and conservation. The project will include removing dead trees, removing dead and down logs, pruning lower branches from remaining trees, and responding to wildfires. The recipient will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and supervising a team of young adults, providing training and equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The NPS will provide general orientation, safety training, and technical assistance.
