The United States Air Force is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Short-Wave Infrared / Mid-Wave Infrared (SWIR/MWIR) hyperspectral imaging system. The system must meet specific technical requirements, including spectral range, detector pitch, and focal plane array size. The system must also have a variable aperture, selectable spectral resolution, and a minimum scan rate. The Air Force is also considering an optional requirement for a MWIR/LWIR system.
Key features of the required system include:
• Spectral range: 1.5 – 5.5 µm
• Detector pitch: ≤ 350 µm
• Focal plane array size: ≥ 8 x 8
• Variable aperture for signal attenuation
• Selectable spectral resolution: 1 to ≥ 32 cm-1
• Minimum scan rates at various resolutions
• 10Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) output
• Three telescope assemblies (x0.5, x2, x6)
• Co-aligned bore sighting color video camera
• Built-in GPS/IRIG B Timecode decoder interface
• Acquisition computer with software to acquire, analyze, and display scientific data
