Animal Shelter Services

The Town of West Springfield is seeking a vendor to provide animal shelter services, including stray holds for dogs, cats, and other animals. The selected vendor will be responsible for providing a safe and secure facility for the detention and care of animals, as well as competent veterinary medical care. The vendor will also be required to maintain accurate records of all animals, including intake, care, medical treatment, and final disposition. The contract term is for one year, with the option for two additional one-year renewals. The total compensation under this contract shall not exceed the amount specified in the contract, and the contractor shall be compensated in accordance with appropriations made by the Town. Key responsibilities of the vendor include: * Providing a safe and secure facility for the detention and care of animals * Maintaining accurate records of all animals, including intake, care, medical treatment, and final disposition * Providing competent veterinary medical care for all animals impounded at the facility * Coordinating with the Town to achieve seamless and efficient data management across shelter, enforcement, quarantine, and evidence retention * Operating in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA, workers' compensation, wage and hour, equal employment opportunity, zoning, health, and licensing requirements.
