Birmingham Critical Care Transport

The Birmingham VA Medical Center is seeking to purchase Critical Care Transportation Services. The contractor will provide air and ground critical care transport services to beneficiaries of the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The contract will be for one year with four option years. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, insurance, licenses, and equipment to provide safe and comfortable ambulance transportation. The contractor will be responsible for providing a dispatcher/supervisor who will be available 24/7 to communicate with the VA Medical Center. • The contractor must have a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record. • The contractor must provide proof of insurance and maintain all records created for government use. • The contractor must comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. • The contractor must provide training on transporting/assisting disabled passengers for all personnel. • The contractor must have a plan in place for emergencies and medical incidents. • The contractor must provide a list of all vehicles and drivers used for transportation services. • The contractor must ensure that all vehicles meet the minimum vehicle requirements as mandated by the current Federal Specification for the Star-of-Life Ambulance.
