Description
The County of Santa Barbara is soliciting a qualified Special Inspection and Materials Testing firm to provide comprehensive inspection and testing services for the remodel of Units 1, 2, and 3 at the Santa Maria Probation Juvenile Justice Center. The scope includes: • Inspection of concrete, masonry, steel, welds, anchors, and other structural elements per California Building Standards Code §1704. • Material testing (compressive strength, sieve analysis, NDT, etc.) and laboratory coordination. • Coordination with the County’s Construction Manager, General Contractor, and Architect throughout design‑bid‑build delivery. • Daily reporting, documentation in the County’s CMIS, and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. • Support for ADA‑related upgrades, security system upgrades, and fire‑proofing inspections. The contract will run for the duration of construction (approximately 419 days) and requires a live‑scan background check for all personnel.
