Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from potential vendors to upgrade its outdoor liquid nitrogen delivery system. The system consists of an Adjustable Pressure Phase Separator (APPS) and a Liquid Nitrogen Fill Station. The upgrade requires replacing the existing APPS unit and fill station with new ones, including removal, installation, and on-site testing. The new system must meet specific requirements, including compliance with industry standards for liquid nitrogen delivery systems.
• The APPS unit must receive low-temperature, high-pressure nitrogen and separate it into liquid nitrogen and nitrogen gas.
• The fill station must transfer liquid nitrogen to standard commercial dewars and collect exhaust from the dewar's vent port.
• The system must monitor exhaust contents to automatically shut off the fill when the dewar is full.
• The system must comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
