Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is seeking a contractor to provide multi-omics sequencing and analysis services to support a research study on degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM). The study aims to identify diagnostic biomarkers for DCM and develop more targeted and individualized treatment strategies. The contractor will be required to extract metabolites, proteins, and RNA from human plasma and whole blood, perform omics analysis, and provide raw and analyzed data. The contractor must also be able to process a large number of samples (120) in a single batch and provide high-quality data. • The contractor must have experience with discovery-based untargeted omics tools and be able to detect subtle variations between similar spinal cord diseases. • The contractor must be able to provide a complete pipeline for the study's multi-omics needs, including sample prep and complete data analysis. • The contractor must be low-cost and high-throughput, as the study has a small pilot funding (less than 50K) and a short-time frame (by September 30, 2026).

Budget estimate

$40,000 – $60,000

The budget for this opportunity is estimated to be around $50,000, as mentioned in the document as the small pilot funding for the entire project. However, this amount may not be the actual budget, as it is a sole source contract and the final amount may be negotiated between the contractor and the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Factors that may influence the budget include the complexity of the research study, the number of samples to be processed, and the level of expertise required for the contractor.
