The State of Georgia, through Georgia College and State University (GCSU), is seeking to purchase a MacroRAM Raman Spectrometer for use in the Chemistry Department. The contract was awarded, and the award documents are available. The spectrograph should utilize an aberration-corrected concave grating with a flat field output, and the system should be sealed with an interlocked internal sample compartment. The vendor must have a long and excellent reputation for experience in Raman spectroscopy and be able to provide rapid service support over the phone or email when issues arise.
• The contract term is from the date of award until the end of the State’s current fiscal year, with four one-year options to renew.
• The system should be capable of quick startup time from power off, with a maximum of 15 minutes from cold to start, calibrate, and validate the system and detector.
• Autocalibration of the system should be simple, automated, and PC-controlled, taking no more than 5 minutes after positioning of the Si wafer or other calibration reference sample.
• A computer or laptop to control the system and analyze the data should be included, with a general and versatile software package suitable for both standard operations of the system and data analysis.
• An immersion/touch probe for direct analysis in solution or on the sample should be included, with a diameter of 3/8 inch and a length of 228 mm, and made of Hastelloy C276 steel for corrosion resistance.
