RFQ: Red Rocks Backstage Expansion & Accessibility Improvements

This contract concerns the design of a major expansion and accessibility upgrade to the Red Rocks Backstage building at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Morrison, CO). The City and County of Denver’s Department of Transportation & Infrastructure (DOTI) issued an RFQ to obtain architectural and engineering professional services. The scope includes demolition, addition of new dressing rooms, a dining area, kitchen, offices, and back‑of‑house spaces while addressing ADA deficiencies, improving performer experience, and streamlining loading and stage access. The design will be coordinated for phased construction under a Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) delivery method. The solicitation required a 14 % MWBE participation goal and stipulated specific insurance and registration requirements. The award was made to Short‑Elliott‑Hendrickson, Incorporated.
