Jitney/Trolley Transportation Services for the City of Ocean City

The City of Ocean City is seeking a contractor to provide Jitney/Trolley transportation services for the city. The services include a transit circulator service to transport passengers along a predetermined route throughout the island during the peak of the tourism season, as well as a year-round shuttle service from various senior residences to the Howard S. Stainton Senior Center. The contractor will be required to provide vehicles that meet certain specifications, including being powered by an alternative fuel source, and to maintain a regular preventative maintenance and cleaning program for all vehicles. The contractor will also be required to provide a mobile passenger application and to display certain advertisements on the vehicles. The contract will be for an initial term of 11 months, with the option to extend for two additional one-year periods. • The contractor will be required to provide a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 vehicles, depending on the day and time of year. • The contractor will be required to provide drivers who are neatly dressed in an appropriate company uniform and who have undergone an initial physical screening and regular drug and alcohol testing. • The contractor will be required to maintain insurance coverage with a combined single limit of $1,000,000.00 for bodily injury and property damage. • The contractor will be required to indemnify and hold harmless the City, its officers, employees, agents, and elected representatives from any and all liabilities, costs, claims, judgments, and assessments arising out of the contractor's performance of, or failure to perform, its duties and obligations under the contract.
