Description
The South Carolina Department of Education is seeking qualified towing firms to provide on‑call and emergency towing, light‑recovery, and full‑recovery services for its fleet of school buses and service vehicles across the state. The contract will be a 5‑year term (one‑year base with four renewal options) and will require contractors to maintain a minimum of three fully equipped tow/recovery vehicles, respond within 30 minutes to emergencies, and submit pre‑service cost estimates for each request. Bidders must submit a single sealed offer not exceeding a $1,000 unit price per tow event.
• Provide 24/7 emergency towing, light‑recovery, and full‑recovery for SCDE buses and vehicles.
• Maintain at least three Class A‑C tow/recovery trucks with specified equipment (cranes, winches, fire extinguishers, etc.).
• Meet a 30‑minute response time, submit pre‑service estimates, and comply with insurance, licensing, and vendor registration requirements.
