SEM / EDS Upgrade

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract for the purchase of a combined backscatter (BSE) detector and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS). The contract is expected to be awarded to OXFORD INSTRUMENTS AMERICA, INC. The anticipated period of performance is from 09/01/2026 to 08/31/2027. • The contract is for a specific product, a BEX (combined BSE detector and EDS). • The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 12.102 and 41 U.S.C. § 1901 and 1903. • Interested parties may submit quotations or proposals, which will be considered by the government. • The contract is expected to be awarded to OXFORD INSTRUMENTS AMERICA, INC., but the government may consider other options based on the responses received.
