Health Inspections for Detention Facilities

The County of San Mateo is seeking a contractor to perform annual medical and mental health inspections at detention facilities in the county. The contractor will be required to review current California Board of State and Community Corrections guidance, perform onsite inspections, and submit written reports. The inspections will ensure compliance with Title 15 of the California Code of Regulations. The contractor will need to have expertise in medical and mental health and experience working in correctional facilities and systems. • The contractor will be responsible for performing annual medical and mental health inspections at all active detention facilities in San Mateo County. • The contractor will need to review current California Board of State and Community Corrections guidance and identify the medical/mental health standards, inspection requirements, and appropriate checklists/forms for each detention facility. • The contractor will need to perform onsite inspections, which will include introductions, facility tours, interviews with key personnel, and reviews of policies and procedures. • The contractor will need to submit written reports for each detention facility, which will include findings and recommendations for compliance with Title 15 standards.
