Temporary Database Administrator - MDCS Support

The Maryland State Department of Education is seeking a Temporary Database Administrator to support the Maryland Direct Certification System (MDCS). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring system continuity, responding to system degradation or outage, and performing routine maintenance and optimization. The contract will start on or around January 20, 2026, and terminate on or around June 30, 2026, for an approximate total term length of six months. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and at least 5 years of hands-on experience administering production relational databases. • Key responsibilities include: • Database Monitoring & Maintenance • Troubleshooting and Incident Response • Disaster Recovery • Documentation • Support and Coordination The successful candidate will work up to 30 hours per week, with a minimum of two days per week in-office and the option to telework for the remaining days.
