Special Advisor for Strategic Initiatives & External Affairs

The City of Edmond is seeking a Special Advisor for Strategic Initiatives & External Affairs to provide professional services in areas such as economic development, governmental affairs, legislative advocacy, and stakeholder engagement. The advisor will be responsible for developing and implementing an annual comprehensive and proactive intergovernmental and stakeholder relations strategy, providing strategic counsel to City leadership, and maintaining confidentiality of nonpublic information. The selected advisor will work closely with City staff and other relevant contractors to advance the City's strategic priorities. Some key responsibilities of the Special Advisor include: • Developing, cultivating, maintaining, and leveraging productive relationships at the City, County, State, and Federal level • Providing strategic counsel to City leadership regarding political, governmental, and stakeholder dynamics • Assisting City leadership in navigating complex policy and political environments • Developing partnerships that enhance the City's economic vitality, influence, and long-term success
