Description
The City of Long Beach is soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced contractors to provide heavy-duty towing, recovery, and related services to support the City of Long Beach Towing Division on an as-needed basis. The contractor will be required to perform various services including towing, recovery, relocation, and secure storage of disabled, damaged, abandoned, or impounded heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The contract will be for a period of two years with the option to renew it for three additional one-year periods. The total contract term will not exceed five years.
• Towing and recovery of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment
• Scene clean-up and hazardous disposal
• 24-hour attendance to disabled city vehicles
• Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and contractual requirements
• Use of electronic dispatching system for efficient communication
• Maintenance of safety equipment and uniforms
• Background checks and Live Scan fingerprinting for tow operators
