Description
The Mississippi Oil and Gas Board is seeking a contractor to assist with the plugging, remediation, and reclamation of orphaned oil and gas wells located throughout the state. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and services to complete the work in a workmanlike manner. The project is expected to begin on or about May 1, 2026, and end on or before April 30, 2027. The contractor must have experience in emergency response and management, environmental response and management, risk assessment and safety, and must be qualified to do business in the State of Mississippi.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Plugging, remediation, and reclamation of orphaned oil and gas wells
• Compliance with the rules and regulations of the Mississippi Oil and Gas Board and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act's Orphan Well Program
• Coordination with other contractors and MSOGB staff
• Assessment and reporting of environmental hazards and contamination
• Support for MSOGB in fulfilling federal requirements
