Description
The Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care System (ICVAHCS) is seeking a contractor to provide document destruction services. The contractor will be responsible for shredding and disposing of sensitive documents, including medical records, in accordance with federal regulations. The contract will be for a period of two years, with no option periods. The contractor will be required to provide all labor and equipment necessary to perform the services, and will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the documents. The contractor will also be required to provide a certificate of destruction for all documents shredded.
• The contractor must be NAID certified and provide NAID certificates to the VA Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
• The contractor shall provide all labor and equipment and shall be responsible for disposing of all destructed materials according to guidelines set forth within the statement of work.
• The contractor shall maintain liability insurance for the duration of the contract.
• The contractor shall provide the services identified weekly between the hours of 1:00 PM CST and 04:30 PM CST, Monday through Friday at the ICVAHCS.
• The contractor shall recover material from the ICVAHCS to be destructed from various locations as notated in Attachment 1.
