Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to hire four Full Time Equivalency (FTE) Phlebotomist/Medical Technician Staff to provide onsite patient phlebotomy services at the VA Maine Healthcare System in Augusta, Maine. The staff will be required to perform inpatient ward rounds, inpatient and outpatient, Emergency Department (ED), STAT, as soon as possible (ASAP), and timed draws, as well as sample processing and send out preparation. The standard of care is expected to meet or exceed currently recognized national standards as established by Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines. The contract is expected to be a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set Aside.
Key responsibilities and requirements include:
• Providing onsite patient phlebotomy services
• Performing sample processing and send out preparation
• Meeting or exceeding national standards for phlebotomy services
• Being technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements
• Being able to speak, understand, read and write English fluently
