Description
Cumberland County is seeking bids for the design, build, and delivery of a new mobile library outreach vehicle or bookmobile for the Public Library. The bookmobile should meet specific requirements, including being a new 25’ truck-style vehicle, having a minimum 3.5L V6 engine, and meeting all applicable federal and state motor vehicle safety standards. The vehicle should also have various features such as a back-up alarm, back-up camera, leveling/stabilizing system, and carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. The vendor must provide a quote that includes all specifications, a scaled and labeled vehicle mock-up drawing, warranty information, and training information.
Key requirements include:
• Minimum of three years of experience in the design and manufacturing of specialty vehicles
• Ability to fabricate or source custom interior components
• Compliance with applicable federal and state motor vehicle safety standards
• Minimum one-year warranty on all vehicle systems and interior furnishings
• Post-delivery support for maintenance, repairs, and training
• Assignment of a dedicated project manager
• Submission of a detailed project timeline
• Delivery of a completed vehicle for inspection by November 19, 2026
