TACO SHELLS - UCARE Cooperative Contract for Nutrition Services

The Canyons School District (CSD) as the contract managing agency for the Utah Cooperative for Acquiring Resources Efficiently (UCARE) organization is seeking information and samples for a blind side by side taste test to be conducted in February of 2026 by the UCARE group. The UCARE group is currently a group of 23 school districts in the State of Utah. The taco shells sent in for sampling must meet the current child nutrition requirements set by the USDA. • The requirements for the taco shells include being yellow, whole grain, zero trans fat, pre-fried, and bulk. • The current shells being ordered are coming broken and at times with mold in the bag, so the district is looking for other options. • Samples are to be shipped to the Canyons School District Administration Building Nutrition Services by February 9, 2026. • The side by side tests will qualify those suppliers who are approved to submit pricing information to Sysco for the UCARE cooperative for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
