Transit Bus Simulator System

The Interurban Transit Partnership (ITP) is seeking a Transit Bus Simulator System to train its bus operators. The system should replicate the operation of a low-floor transit bus and be capable of changing the bus length and appearance in the software between 40- and 60-foot. The system should include a high-end simulator with a customized driver cab, ability to change operational characteristics of the bus model, and capability to customize virtual worlds. The system should also include an instructor workstation, auxiliary control station, and viewing station. The contract will include a 5-year warranty and support agreement, with options to extend up to 10 years. • The Transit Bus Simulator System will be used to train bus operators in a fixed route configuration. • The system should be capable of operating as a 40-foot Gillig Low Floor CNG bus and a 60-foot New Flyer Xcelsior XN60 CNG bus. • The system should include a high-end simulator with a customized driver cab. • The system should include an instructor workstation and auxiliary control station. • The system should include a viewing station for observers to monitor trainee's actions in real-time.
