Description
The City of Wilmington seeks a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive backflow preventer services city‑wide, covering testing, inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement of approximately 208 devices. The contractor must adhere to state and local water‑system regulations, deliver detailed reports, maintain an online data portal, and respond to emergency service calls promptly. The contract is a one‑year term with two optional extensions, and the successful firm will be responsible for scheduling, safety compliance, and full documentation for billing.
• Perform annual testing/inspection of ~208 backflow preventers per CFPUA and NFPA standards.
• Provide maintenance, repair, or replacement on the same visit whenever possible, with same‑day emergency response.
• Submit detailed written and electronic reports, maintain an online database access for the City, and coordinate quarterly inspection schedules.
• Must hold required insurance, certifications, and be a registered City vendor; MBE/DBE participation is encouraged.
