The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking information from potential vendors for the provision of portable patient lifts for all facilities and clinics in the VA Northeastern Consortium (VANEC). The VANEC is comprised of Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs) 1, 2, 4, and 5. The lifts should be designed to minimize the need for manual holding by nurses or caregivers when transferring or repositioning patients, promoting both patient and employee safety and comfort. Key criteria include safety features, weight capacity, battery life, versatility, integrated scale, and lift capabilities.
Some of the key equipment requirements include:
* Chairs for disabled patients with features such as tilt in space, back angle recline, adjustable leg rest, and adjustable seat width and back height
* Rehabilitation chairs with features such as adjustable arm height, adjustable lateral supports, and narrow or adjustable head support
* Mobile floor lifts with features such as powered positioning, emergency lowering system, and adjustable leg supports
* Non-powered stand aids with features such as locking wheels, knee supports, and adjustable legs
* Powered sit-to-stand aids with features such as large lower leg/knee supports, straps/supports for legs, and controls on both the lift itself and on a handset
* Bath chairs with features such as adjustable height, lifting stroke, and handgrips
* Stretchers/chairs with features such as electronic movements, adjustable armrests, and wheels and brakes.
