GPS Pilot Project-Professional GPS Location

The City of Austin is seeking information to establish a pilot project for using high-accuracy Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to capture precise location data of Austin Water's water meter assets. The objective is to evaluate workflow, accuracy, and cost in preparation for a potential contract for professional GPS location services. The pilot will initially capture GPS coordinates with sub-inch to sub-foot accuracy for approximately 300 new water meters, and potentially 20,000 existing meters. Vendors may use their own RTK subscription or leverage Austin Water's RTK antenna and base station.
