Description
The City of Atlanta is seeking a licensed dentist to provide on-call dental services to inmates at the Atlanta City Detention Center. The dentist will be responsible for providing routine and emergency dental care, including screenings, examinations, and treatment. The services will be provided on an as-needed basis, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in general dentistry and 5 years of experience in correctional dentistry required. The dentist will also be responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice, complying with administrative rules and regulations, and working with medical records to generate a list of inmates needing emergency care or yearly examinations.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Providing routine and emergency dental care to inmates
• Conducting dental screenings and examinations
• Developing individualized treatment plans for each inmate
• Maintaining dental instruments, sharps, and equipment in accordance with American Correctional Association and Atlanta City Detention Center standards
• Complying with administrative rules and regulations
