Mechanical and Plumbing Services

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) is seeking a contractor to provide mechanical and plumbing services at its facilities in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, Maryland. The contractor will be required to perform a variety of tasks, including handling, setting, laying out, fabrication, assembling, erecting, installing, maintaining, repairing, replacing, backflow testing, and reconditioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment/systems. The contractor must have at least five years of experience in performing similar work and must meet certain minimum qualifications. The contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror who submits the most advantageous proposal. Some key points to consider: • The contractor must have experience with mechanical, plumbing, and minor electrical work. • The contractor must have an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) less than 1.0 or a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) less than 100% of the industry average. • The contractor must provide proof of insurance and bonds. • The contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. • The contractor must perform the work in accordance with the contract documents and all incidental work necessary to complete the project. • The contractor must provide a price proposal that includes labor rates for various tasks. • The contractor must submit a technical proposal that demonstrates its qualifications and experience. • The contractor must attend a mandatory site visit and sign the official attendance log to be deemed responsive and eligible to submit a proposal.
