Description
The Town of Westerly/Westerly Public Schools is seeking a qualified Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector to perform inspections of new installations in construction, alterations, and renovations to ensure compliance with State Code. The inspector will be responsible for reviewing applications, performing daily inspections, and working with other town departments. The contract is for three years with two optional one-year extensions.
• The inspector must have a minimum of five years of experience and hold a valid Rhode Island master pipe fitters or journey person contractor's license for mechanical inspection, and a valid Rhode Island master or journeyperson plumber's license for plumbing inspection.
• The inspector must maintain an active license and earn 15 continuing education hours per year.
• The inspector will work in conjunction with other town departments and navigate construction sites, which may include rough grading, boulders, and inclement weather.
• The town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informality in the bidding process.
