Non emergent Ambulance Services Central Alabama VA Health Care System

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking sources to provide non-emergent ambulance services for the Central Alabama VA Health Care System. The contractor will be required to provide Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Critical Care Transport (CCT) services on an as-needed basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The contractor must have the capability to receive orders, update ride status, and input trip costs and other required data through the VetRide or VA-Approved Transportation Software Utilization. Some key points to consider: • The contractor shall provide all vehicles, personnel, management, supplies, equipment, and necessary reporting for the provision of BLS, ALS, and CCT services. • The contractor shall have sufficient vehicles and personnel to provide services for up to four simultaneous transportation requests. • The contractor shall transport patients per its policies and standard industry practice. • The contractor shall be responsible for the patient's welfare during transport and shall be held responsible for patient and/or VA property during transport. • The contractor shall exercise extreme caution and care in the handling of patients.
