Media Literacy Access Alumni Camp

The U.S. Embassy in Brasília, Brazil, is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement to implement a media literacy and journalism summer camp for recent graduates of the English Access Microscholarship Program. The camp should be held in a Brazilian city for a period of seven days in July 2019, and the Regional English Language Office will select approximately 30 talented Access graduates to attend. The project aims to provide a personal and academic development experience, increasing participants' ability to use and understand English, as well as their critical thinking and media literacy skills. • The project will consist of a grantee working closely with the U.S. Department of State to plan and organize the camp. • The camp will include activities such as team building, cross-cultural understanding, and leadership skills development. • The project will also include a video project based on a selected global concern, which will be shared on social media and used as an awareness tool. • The recipient will be responsible for selecting an appropriate location for the camp, arranging transportation, and conducting the camp activities. • The U.S. Government will be responsible for determining participant selection criteria, approving the proposed camp site, and approving the agenda of planned activities.
