Description
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking quotes for VMware/Broadcom vDefend firewall licensing for an on-premises VMware environment totaling 384 compute cores. The purpose of this RFQ is to solicit bids for VMware licensing. Bidders must submit quotes covering two separate term lengths: January 16, 2026, through June 30, 2026, and January 16, 2026, through September 27, 2027. The estimated term of any contract entered into under this RFQ shall consist of an initial term and may be renewed or extended upon written agreement by the awarded Bidder and the Agency.
• The Commonwealth requires the DFW (Distributed Firewall) add-on license for an existing NSX environment using a DFW.
• Bidders must submit quotes covering two separate term lengths.
• The Commonwealth strongly prefers a Distributed Firewall–only product/SKU.
• Quotes must clearly indicate which product and SKUs are commercially available.
• All quotes must include most advantageous per-core pricing and indicate VMware/Broadcom list price and reseller markup consistent with the terms of the Statewide Contract.
