Description

This solicitation seeks an electrical contractor to design, supply, and install a fleet electric‑vehicle (EV) charging system at the Stamford Regional Sub‑Office in Delaware County, NY. The work includes concrete pad construction, underground duct‑bank trenching, installation of low‑voltage power conductors and conduit, grounding, switchboard integration, and site restoration (pavement markings, fencing, landscaping). The contract value is estimated between $1 M and $2 M, with a required bid security of $41,400 and performance bonds equal to 100 % of the contract sum. The project must meet New York State MWBE/SDVOB participation goals, prevailing‑wage requirements, and extensive documentation (shop drawings, product data, EPDs, QA reports). The contractor must also comply with environmental and safety regulations, provide a 409‑day schedule to substantial completion, and submit a multitude of submittals per the Schedule of Submittals. • Electrical installation of Level 2 EV charging station pads, conduit, and wiring. • Civil work: excavation, concrete pad construction, utility protection, pavement restoration, erosion‑control. • Comprehensive QA/QC: independent testing, Environmental Product Declarations, material test reports, and infrared scans after substantial completion.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $2,000,000

The solicitation estimates a contract value of $1 M–$2 M. Assuming a typical contractor gross profit margin of 5‑10 % for specialized electrical work, the net earnings for the successful bidder would likely fall between $50,000 and $200,000. The range accounts for variability in subcontractor costs, MWBE participation requirements (which may affect pricing), and the high bid‑security and bonding obligations.
