Capacity Building Developmental & Capacity Building Pilot

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is offering grants to nonprofit organizations to develop and conduct training and educational programs for small business employers and workers on the recognition, avoidance, and prevention of occupational safety and health hazards in their workplaces. The grant program aims to inform workers of their rights and employers of their responsibilities under the OSH Act. The grants will be awarded for a 12-month period, and the maximum award for a Capacity Building Developmental grant is $180,000, while the maximum award for a Capacity Building Pilot grant is $80,000. • The grant program is competitive, and OSHA expects to award multiple grants to eligible nonprofit organizations. • The grant program is subject to the availability of federal funding and appropriations. • Organizations are restricted to one Susan Harwood Targeted Topic Training grant, Training and Educational Materials Development grant, or Capacity Building grant award in a fiscal year. • The grant program is open to nonprofit organizations, including qualifying labor unions, community-based and faith-based organizations, employer associations, institutions of higher education, Indian tribes, tribal organizations, Alaska Native entities, Indian-controlled organizations serving Indians, and Native Hawaiian organizations.
