REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS (BAS) VENDOR EVALUATION

The University at Buffalo (UB) Utilities Operations Department is seeking a comprehensive technical informational submission from qualified Building Automation System (BAS) OEM vendors to support a potential long-term partnership. The purpose of this RFI is to identify and establish relationships with additional Building Automation System (BAS) firms. Expanding the list of qualified BAS providers will give the University greater flexibility when specifying BAS systems for future renovations and new construction projects. UB is evaluating modern BAS platforms to enhance HVAC and facility operations across its North, South, Downtown, and affiliated off-campus locations. The requested technical overview should provide our technical BAS/HVAC staff with a clear, hands-on understanding of the platform, including system architecture, core capabilities, advanced features, integration options, cybersecurity features, scalability, and overall suitability for a large, multi-site university environment. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. - Responding to this RFI is voluntary and does not preclude participation in any future solicitation. - No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this RFI. - UB reserves the right to contact or not contact any respondent, conduct follow-up interviews, or issue future solicitations based on the information received. - Submission of an RFI response may be followed by a request for an in‑person or virtual presentation.
