Digital Wayfinding Signage

The City of Norfolk is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of digital wayfinding signage displays. The system will include five interactive kiosks to be installed along Freemason Street at key gateway locations and near amenities within the Kindred neighborhood. The kiosks will provide residents and visitors with contextualized information, including wayfinding information, public art displays, real-time public transportation options, and more. The contractor will be responsible for designing, implementing, fabricating, installing, operating, and maintaining the kiosks, as well as providing a maintenance plan and training for City staff. • The system must be designed and fabricated by June 30, 2026. • The kiosks must be accessible to individuals with disabilities and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). • The kiosks must feature tactile and Braille signage, as well as audio assistance for those with visual and auditory impairments. • The contractor must provide a unified cloud-hosted management platform for real-time information on the kiosks. • The contractor must provide quarterly and annual usage statistics reports, as well as hardware maintenance and software reports.
