Description
Lakewood Board of Education is seeking a qualified transportation contractor to provide full‑time student transportation for the 2025‑2026 school year using compliant yellow school buses equipped with GPS, DVR, two‑way radios, child‑alert systems, and required safety equipment. The contractor must staff each route with a qualified driver (CDL P & S) and, where required, a transportation aide, operate a 6 a.m.‑6 p.m. dispatch center, and meet extensive reporting, insurance, bonding, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide National School Bus Glossy Yellow vehicles (Type A‑D) – newer than 2010 (wheel‑lift buses ≥ 2008).
• Equip every bus with GPS/real‑time tracking, digital video/audio recording, two‑way radios, child‑alert, route‑identification cards, and climate control.
• Submit a sealed bid by 10:00 a.m. on Dec 5 2025 with a 5 % bid guarantee (capped at $50 k), corporate performance bond, and all required certifications/forms.
• Maintain monthly invoicing, bi‑annual vehicle inspections, and strict penalties for late reporting, equipment failures, or safety violations.
• Contract runs Sep 1 2025 – Jun 30 2026; renewal possible at Board’s discretion.
