Request for Quotations: Housing Inspection Services

The City of Williamsport is seeking a housing inspector to provide services for its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded housing rehabilitation program. The inspector will be responsible for conducting initial and final inspections, preparing documents and coordinating construction bidding, and providing construction supervision. The program aims to assist low-income homeowners with emergency repairs to their properties. The inspector will work with the city, SEDA-COG, and property owners to ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the program's requirements and guidelines. Some of the key services include: • Initial property inspections to identify deficiencies and necessary corrections • Preparation of documents and coordination of construction bidding • Construction supervision to ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the contract documents • Coordination with property owners, SEDA-COG, and the city to ensure that all parties are informed and that the project is completed successfully The city anticipates using an estimated $350,000 in CDBG funds for this program, and the inspector will be responsible for managing the construction contract award process, including issuance of the Notice of Award, execution of agreements, and oversight of the execution and filing of a waiver of liens.
