Square Steel Sign Post System, Hardware and Accessories

The City of Lincoln is seeking bids for the provision of square steel sign post systems, hardware, and accessories. The successful bidder will be required to provide materials that meet the specifications outlined in the request, including conformity to the Federal Highway Administration's Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the State of Nebraska Supplement to the MUTCD. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsible, and responsive vendor whose bid substantially meets all the required specifications, duties, terms, and conditions. The term of the agreement will be one year, with the option to renew for three additional one-year terms. Key responsibilities will include providing materials in the lengths requested, submitting bids and supporting documents via the City of Lincoln/Lancaster County Purchasing E-bid system, and delivering materials to the specified location. • The square steel signpost system must conform to the latest version of the MUTCD and the State of Nebraska Supplement to the MUTCD. • The system shall consist of a post, anchor, and sleeve. • The posts shall be hot-rolled carbon sheet steel, structural quality, ASTM designation A570, Grade 50. • The posts will be punched with 7/16 +/- 1/64 inches in diameter holes on 1” centers on all four sides down the entire length of the post. • The length of each post shall have a permissible length tolerance of +/¼”. • The permissible tolerance for straightness will be within 1/16” in 3 feet. • The finished post shall be straight and have a smooth, uniform finish.
