Light Vehicle Transmission Services

The City of Palm Bay is requesting quotes from qualified suppliers to perform transmission repairs on a transmission by transmission basis. The price quoted shall include the cost of a basic transmission rebuild, and any additional hard parts shall be billed separately at cost plus a percentage markup. The bidder shall also submit an hourly labor rate for repairs above and beyond a basic transmission rebuild. • The City defines a basic transmission rebuild as removing, disassembling, and inspecting the transmission, performing diagnostics, replacing all seals/gaskets, clutch kit, fluids, pistons, torque converter, washers/bearings, and solenoid valve. • The bidder shall also submit the costs associated with environmental fees and shop supplies. • No charge will be allowed for providing repair estimates. • Turnaround time from authorization to repair shall be five business days or less. • A secondary vendor may be selected for overflow work that cannot be accomplished within the five-day requirement.
